New Mixed-Use Tower and CAVA Restaurant Energize Streeterville
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Streeterville ·
Exciting developments are transforming Streeterville's skyline and culinary landscape this October. The Chicago Plan Commission recently approved a striking new 56-story mixed-use tower at 669 N. Michigan Avenue. The ambitious 668-foot-tall development will feature 498 residential units along with retail spaces and parking, adding significant housing options to the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, food enthusiasts have been flocking to Streeterville's newest dining option. CAVA opened its fifth Illinois location at 270 E Ontario Street in late July, bringing Mediterranean-inspired bowls, pitas, dips, and dressings to the area. The fast-casual restaurant chain has quickly become popular for its focus on healthy, delicious food. "Our mission is to bring heart, health, and humanity to food," said Gino Carlin, Regional Director, expressing enthusiasm about growing CAVA's presence in Chicagoland.
Looking ahead, art and culture enthusiasts should mark their calendars for November. The Magnificent Lights Festival will illuminate Streeterville on November 22, kicking off the holiday season with dazzling displays throughout the neighborhood. Additionally, a proposal to replace the historic low-rise at 67 East Oak with a two-story luxury retail space is under consideration, potentially bringing more upscale shopping options between the existing Akris and Chanel storefronts.
