Bronzeville Children's Museum Celebrates Local History with New Exhibit on Black Steelworkers

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Bronzeville ·

The Bronzeville Children's Museum, founded by Peggy Montes, continues to make history as it educates and inspires the next generation of community leaders. This October, the museum launched a special traveling exhibit honoring the history of Black steelworkers, which will be making stops at Chicago Public Libraries throughout the month.

Food enthusiasts are discovering Bronzeville's rich culinary scene, as highlighted in a recent Fox 32 feature where Sylvia Perez took viewers on a tour of the neighborhood's diverse food offerings, from classic cobblers to innovative new eateries. Following this summer's successful second annual Taste of Bronzeville festival, which organizers described as "the largest food festival on the South Side of Chicago, bringing together the community through food, culture, and entertainment," local restaurants are seeing increased patronage from visitors throughout the city. Community members interested in exploring Bronzeville's food scene are encouraged to visit the neighborhood's restaurants and cafes, and to mark their calendars for next year's Taste of Bronzeville celebration.
