Jefferson Park's Delightful Pastries Brings Back Popular Thanksgiving Pie Making Class for 2025 Holiday Season

A beloved Jefferson Park institution is helping community members prepare for the upcoming holiday season with a special culinary experience. Delightful Pastries, which has been serving homestyle baked goods in the neighborhood for more than 25 years, is once again offering its popular Thanksgiving pie making class to help residents create perfect holiday desserts.

"Pie making is very, very, very labor intensive," explains owner Dobra Bielinski, who founded the European-style bakery with her daughter in 1998. "I don't have a pie machine that I just pop the ingredients into and it spits out pies. It's all handmade." The hands-on class will teach participants essential techniques for creating delicious holiday pies from scratch, including crust preparation and various seasonal fillings. Participants can look forward to learning how to create some of the bakery's signature holiday specialties, which have included honey pumpkin pie, cranberry fudge pie, and bourbon pecan pie in past years.

Interested Jefferson Park residents are encouraged to register early as the class typically fills quickly. For those unable to attend the class, Delightful Pastries also offers pre-orders for Thanksgiving pies, but these should be placed well in advance of the holiday rush to ensure availability.
