Lakeview East Giver's Gift Promotion Returns for 28th Year with Record Business Participation
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lake View ·
The beloved Lakeview East Giver's Gift Promotion is making its return for the 28th consecutive year, with organizers announcing more local businesses participating than ever before. Starting November 1st, residents can begin collecting receipts from neighborhood establishments, with a new partially virtual option allowing shoppers to email receipts directly to the Chamber office instead of dropping them off in person.
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 18th, when the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony will take place in front of Clark Street Dog, a Chicago staple in the Lakeview East neighborhood. Beginning at 6 PM, the festive community celebration will feature appearances by Santa Claus, complimentary hot cocoa and treats, photo opportunities with costume characters, and carolers to help kick off the holiday season. The event highlights Lakeview East's commitment to supporting local merchants, with the Chamber making holiday shopping easier through one-day discounts on local gift cards accepted at over 200 businesses throughout the neighborhood. Residents can also look forward to the annual Holiday Treat Stroll, where local merchants will welcome visitors by handing out treats to those who stop in.
For those looking to continue the holiday festivities, the annual Lakeview Tree Lighting Ceremony will also take place at the intersection of Lincoln, Southport & Wellington outside of St. Alphonsus. This additional community celebration will feature holiday music, carolers, festive gift bags, and special surprise appearances, offering multiple opportunities for residents to come together and celebrate the season throughout the neighborhood.
