Lincoln Park's Food Scene Heats Up: Levain Bakery and Zazas Pizzeria Set to Open This Week

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lincoln Park ·

Lincoln Park residents with a sweet tooth are in for a treat as New York-based Levain Bakery prepares to open its third Chicago location this week. The bakery, known for its oversized, gooey cookies, will welcome customers at 849 W. Armitage Ave. starting November 7. According to founders Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald, "Lincoln Park was the first neighborhood we explored when we decided to bring Levain to Chicago and we're so happy to have finally found the perfect home here."

Pizza enthusiasts also have reason to celebrate as Zazas Pizzeria, the popular Lakeview establishment known for its East Coast-inspired pies, is expanding with a grand opening in Lincoln Park on November 7. The new location at 1521 N. Fremont St. will be the fourth restaurant for brothers Chadd and Brett Nemec, who have transformed their passion for New York-style pizza into one of Chicago's most celebrated pizzerias. The brothers have been renovating the former Pizzeria Bebu space and are nearly ready to welcome the community.

Since opening their first location in Lakeview, Zazas has built a loyal following for its lighter, crispier crust that's brushed with rosemary-garlic olive oil and finished with Maldon sea salt. The Lincoln Park shop will feature many of the same signature pizzas as the original location, plus some exclusive offerings unique to the Fremont Street location. Both new establishments invite neighborhood residents to stop by and experience these exciting additions to Lincoln Park's already vibrant culinary landscape.
