Garfield Ridge Prepares for 10th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration on December 6

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Garfield Ridge ·

The Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch has announced final preparations for their 10th Annual Tree Lighting ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, December 6th. This beloved community tradition, highlighted in the organization's 2025 calendar of events, continues to bring neighbors together for a festive celebration marking the beginning of the holiday season.

The event, which is free of charge and open to all community members, is made possible through donations from gold sponsors including Ridge Funeral Home, Mike Riordan State Farm, All Exterior Contractors, Alderman Marty Quinn, Alderwoman Silvana Tabares, and State Rep Angie Guerrero-Cuellar. Their continued support ensures this cherished tradition remains accessible to all Garfield Ridge residents.

Community members looking to extend their holiday celebrations can also mark their calendars for additional seasonal events, including the annual "Santa on the Firetruck" festivities scheduled for Saturday, December 13th in Garfield Ridge and Sunday, December 14th in the neighboring Clearing area. Residents interested in participating in these upcoming community gatherings or learning more about neighborhood initiatives are encouraged to attend the final GRNW general meeting of the year on November 18th at St. Faustina Ward Hall.
