Winter Market Series Coming to Garfield Ridge Community Center Starting December
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Garfield Ridge ·
Garfield Ridge residents can look forward to a new indoor winter market series at the neighborhood Community Center beginning in December 2025. Following the successful summer farmers market season that concluded in September, organizers have announced plans to continue the community gathering indoors during the colder months.
The winter markets will feature many of the same local vendors who participated in the summer series, including family-owned food businesses, crafters, artists, and wellness entrepreneurs from the Southwest Side. Maria Rodriguez of Freedom Lei State of Mind, a regular summer vendor, praised the Garfield Ridge market as "one of the most organized" events that "offers an incredible amount of support for small businesses within the community." Market organizers emphasize that these gatherings go beyond shopping, serving as vital platforms to strengthen neighborhood pride and provide regular community gathering spaces.
Like all Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch sponsored events, the winter market series will be free of charge and open to the public. This community initiative is made possible through donations from Gold Sponsors including Ridge Funeral Home, Mike Riordan State Farm, All Exterior Contractors, Alderman Marty Quinn, Alderwoman Silvana Tabares, and State Rep Angie Guerrero-Cuellar. Residents interested in participating as vendors or volunteers can contact the Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch for more information.
