Roscoe Village Embraces Holiday Spirit with Annual Tree Lighting and Festive Events
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Roscoe Village ·
The Roscoe Village community is gearing up for the annual Lakeview Tree Lighting Ceremony, a cherished tradition that marks the beginning of the holiday season in the neighborhood. The event will take place at the intersection of Lincoln, Southport & Wellington outside of St. Alphonsus, featuring holiday tunes, carolers, festive gift bags, and special surprise appearances.
Following the tree lighting, residents can participate in the Holiday Cocktail Crawl along the Southport corridor, where local businesses will transform into tasting destinations. The ticketed event features two distinct routes, allowing participants to stroll through the neighborhood while sampling seasonal cocktails and enjoying holiday festivities including carolers, photos with Santa, holiday treats, and other festive surprises. Later in December, the Annual Lakeview Menorah Lighting Ceremony will return to the intersection of Lincoln & Marshfield on Wednesday, December 25th, celebrating the first night of Chanukah.
Residents looking to engage with the community during this festive season have multiple opportunities to connect with neighbors and support local businesses. For those planning intimate holiday gatherings, Le Sud Mediterranean Kitchen on Roscoe Street is offering a special Thanksgiving feast to-go featuring apple cider brined turkey with herb gravy, spiral sliced ham with cranberry-pear chutney, and traditional sides with a French flair.
