Lincoln Park's Skyline to Transform: Construction Begins on Massive Halsted Pointe Development
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lincoln Park ·
A significant milestone for Lincoln Park's northern edge has been reached as construction permits have been issued for the first tower of the ambitious Halsted Pointe development at 931 North Halsted Street on Goose Island. This marks a major step forward for the multi-tower complex led by Canadian developer Onni Group, which was originally proposed several years ago.
The 46-story tower will rise 497 feet and feature 460 residential apartments, with every unit including a balcony. Residents will enjoy luxury amenities including a spa/wellness space, fitness center, game room, party room and lounge on the sixth floor, along with an outdoor deck featuring a swimming pool. The building will replace the former Greyhound Bus facility on the southern tip of Goose Island, which has already been demolished to make way for this exciting new addition to the neighborhood.
Lincoln Park residents can also look forward to exploring the Chicago Architecture Biennial's new exhibition space at 840 North Michigan Avenue, which opened this week. The 65,000-square-foot space spans four floors and has been transformed into a free cultural destination featuring more than thirty installations from architects, artists, and studios from around the world as part of the Biennial's tenth anniversary edition, 'SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change.' This development, along with Halsted Pointe, continues to enhance Lincoln Park's reputation as one of Chicago's most vibrant and culturally rich neighborhoods.
