Logan Square Preservation Launches Fall Tree Planting Campaign to Revitalize Historic Boulevards

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Logan Square ·

Community support has been pouring in for Logan Square Preservation's latest tree planting initiative, with residents and local businesses generously contributing to the neighborhood's urban canopy restoration efforts. Each planted tree costs approximately

,000, making community funding critical to the project's success.

The organization, which has already planted hundreds of trees on Logan Square's historic boulevards, is working on a significant expansion for fall 2025. This latest effort continues their mission of replacing elm and ash trees lost to disease while enhancing the neighborhood's green infrastructure. According to the group's website, they are implementing a new plan to upgrade and maintain these green spaces throughout 2025. The new trees being planted include Kentucky coffeetrees, hackberry trees, Katsura trees, and several elm varieties. The preservation group is strategically planting larger, more mature specimens than in previous initiatives to ensure they have an immediate visual impact on the neighborhood landscape.

Residents interested in supporting this community greening effort can contribute to the tree fund through Logan Square Preservation's website, where 100% of donations go directly toward purchasing and planting trees. Volunteers are also welcome to join upcoming planting days scheduled throughout November. For more information on how to get involved, visit the Logan Square Preservation website or attend their next community meeting.
