New Ithaki Estiatorio Restaurant Hosts November Community Networking Event in Near West Side's Greektown
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Near West Side ·
The newly opened Ithaki Estiatorio in Greektown is set to host the West Central Association's November Networking Event, offering Near West Side residents and businesses a chance to connect in an elevated setting. The networking gathering will feature light snacks, beverages, and authentic Grecian hospitality while providing valuable opportunities for community members to build connections.
The restaurant represents an exciting revival for Greektown, part of Chicago's Near West Side. Owned by the Demos family, who previously operated Costa's (a beloved neighborhood establishment), Ithaki brings fresh energy to the area while honoring its Greek heritage. Unlike traditional Greek-American restaurants that haven't evolved since the 1960s, Ithaki features a wood-burning grill, fresh Mediterranean fish, and contemporary takes on classic dishes. According to owner Kosti Demos, the restaurant aims to "spark a renaissance" in Greektown, adding to the neighborhood's revitalization efforts with its modern approach to Greek cuisine.
Greektown has deep historical significance to the Near West Side, where many Greek immigrants initially settled by Hull House in an area known as the Greek Delta. Community members interested in attending the networking event can register through the West Central Association website. The gathering offers an excellent opportunity to experience one of the neighborhood's newest establishments while strengthening local business connections in the Near West Side.
