Oakland Residents Invited to Shape Community's Future at Mandrake Park Advisory Council Meeting

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Oakland ·

Oakland residents have an opportunity to become more involved in their neighborhood's development at the upcoming Mandrake Park Advisory Council meeting on Monday, November 25. Taking place at 6:30 p.m., the meeting invites community members to discuss upcoming winter activities and share input on future park improvements.

The Mandrake Park Advisory Council, which meets on the fourth Monday of each month, plays a vital role in organizing the park's year-round special events, including gym showcases and movie screenings. With the holiday season approaching, the November meeting will focus on planning winter programming to keep Oakland residents connected during the colder months.

"Mandrake Park continues to be a cornerstone of our Oakland community," says neighborhood resident Maya Thompson, who regularly attends the council meetings. "These gatherings allow us to shape the future of our neighborhood spaces together." Residents interested in joining the meeting can contact the Mandrake Park Advisory Council for virtual attendance details or participate in person at the park's fieldhouse located at 3858 S. Cottage Grove Avenue.
