Lilliput Books Hosts Special 'Banned Books Week' Events in Lincoln Park this November

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lincoln Park ·

Lincoln Park's newest literary gem, Lilliput Books, is making waves in the neighborhood this November with special events and promotions centered around Banned Books Week. The independent bookstore, which opened earlier this year at 2150 N. Halsted Street, has become a beloved community hub offering more than just books.

The 'small but mighty' shop, named after the island in Gulliver's Travels, is owned by Yasmeen Schuller, who left a corporate marketing career to pursue her passion for literature and community building. Visitors will find a carefully curated selection of new releases, staff picks, Chicago reads, unique gifts, and cards. The store has quickly established itself as a neighborhood fixture with its regular genre-based book clubs, silent reading nights, yoga sessions, and journaling workshops. This week, the bookstore is offering a 10% discount on all titles from their Banned Books table and will host a special Trivia Night on November 21 to celebrate literary freedom.

Neighbors looking to support this local business can stop by during their operating hours—9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. Visitors might even meet Lily, the friendly resident shop dog. For those interested in upcoming events or joining one of the store's book clubs, visit Lilliput's website or follow them on social media to stay connected with this vibrant addition to Lincoln Park's independent business scene.
