Edgewater Environmental Coalition Launches New Winter Sustainability Series at Broadway Armory
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Edgewater ·
Edgewater residents passionate about environmental stewardship have an exciting new opportunity to engage with sustainability efforts this winter. The Edgewater Environmental Coalition (EEC) has announced a comprehensive Winter Sustainability Series featuring workshops and volunteer opportunities hosted at the Broadway Armory starting this Thursday.
The series kicks off with the monthly EEC meeting on November 20, where residents can learn about ongoing initiatives and connect with like-minded neighbors. The community-centered approach continues with regular volunteer days at local green spaces including Vedgewater Community Garden and Berger Park, providing hands-on opportunities to improve the neighborhood's natural areas. "It's a friendly space to introduce yourself and get connected," noted an EEC representative, emphasizing that all experience levels are welcome to participate in these community-building events.
Residents interested in participating can visit the Edgewater Environmental Coalition's website for registration details. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the coalition remains committed to "empowering people to build and maintain a more sustainable future through action, organizing, education, and advocacy" in the Edgewater community. The winter series offers a perfect opportunity for neighbors to connect while making a positive environmental impact during the colder months.
