Christkindlmarket Returns to Wrigleyville This Weekend, Bringing Holiday Magic Back to Lake View
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lake View ·
Lake View residents have a special reason to celebrate this holiday season as the beloved Christkindlmarket returns to Wrigleyville's Gallagher Way following a one-year hiatus. The popular German-inspired holiday market, which took a pause in 2024 to accommodate the NHL Winter Classic at Wrigley Field, will transform the area into a festive village starting Sunday, November 23 through December 31, 2025.
The Wrigleyville edition will feature more than 25 international and local vendors offering handcrafted ornaments, unique gifts, and seasonal treats. Visitors can warm up with traditional German fare including bratwurst, roasted nuts, and steaming mugs of glühwein served in the market's collectible souvenir mugs. "Stepping foot into the Christkindlmarket offers a safe space where everyone is just there to have a great time, spend time with family, enjoy good food, good music and share some laughs," said vendor Kuba Lojewski, who described the market as creating "almost like a magical wonderland."
Admission to the market is free, making it an accessible holiday activity for all Lake View residents. The market will operate Monday through Thursday from 3 PM to 9 PM, Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM, with special hours on holidays. For families on the North Side looking for holiday activities closer to home, this beloved tradition offers a perfect opportunity to experience a touch of European charm right in the neighborhood.
