Hyde Park's 'First Fridays' to Host Farewell Celebration at The Promontory After 11 Years

Hyde Park residents will have an opportunity to celebrate a neighborhood institution next week as The Promontory prepares to close its doors after 11 years of operation. First Fridays Chicago is organizing a special farewell event on Friday, November 7, featuring DJs Mark Fuller, Mike Dunn, Jay Illa, and Vince Adams for a night of dancing, music, and community celebration.

The farewell party will run from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. at The Promontory, located at 5311 S. Lake Park Ave. W. The event is free to attend, making it accessible for all community members who wish to bid farewell to this beloved Hyde Park venue. The Promontory has long served as a cultural hub for the neighborhood, hosting countless concerts, community events, and celebrations that have enriched Hyde Park's vibrant arts scene.

Neighborhood residents are encouraged to attend this special evening to share memories and celebrate The Promontory's legacy in our community. The venue will continue normal operations until its final New Year's Eve celebration before permanently closing.
