Garfield Ridge Community Center Transforms for Winter Wonderland Event Series
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Garfield Ridge ·
The Garfield Ridge Community Center is undergoing a festive transformation as volunteers prepare for the neighborhood's inaugural 'Winter Wonderland' event series launching next weekend. This new community initiative, organized by the Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch (GRNW), aims to create a seasonal gathering space for residents throughout December and early January.
The series builds on GRNW's tradition of hosting free, accessible community events, with all activities open to the public at no charge. The organization, now in its 17th year of fostering community connections, continues its mission of building "social relationships between neighbors, businesses, community organizations, police, fire and EMS." The winter programming is made possible through donations from Gold Sponsors including Ridge Funeral Home, Mike Riordan State Farm, All Exterior Contractors, and local elected officials.
Residents interested in participating or volunteering for the Winter Wonderland events are encouraged to visit the GRNW website for details on upcoming activities, which will include family-friendly entertainment, seasonal crafts, and opportunities to connect with neighbors during the holiday season. The first event is scheduled for Saturday, November 29, kicking off a season of community celebration in Garfield Ridge.
