Bucktown's creative landscape continues to shine brighter with Flan's Glass, the popular stained glass studio that has recently expanded into a spacious new location at 2016 W. Armitage Avenue. Owner Flannery Thompson, who transitioned from software engineering to pursue her artistic passion full-time, has transformed the storefront into a vibrant hub for stained glass enthusiasts of all skill levels.
The new Bucktown location features a welcoming retail space selling wholesale glass pieces and supplies, alongside Thompson's original custom creations prominently displayed in the large front window. The back of the shop houses a dedicated workshop area where Thompson offers classes that have proven incredibly popular, often selling out within minutes of being posted online. "I was building a community space that I wanted to be a part of, that I didn't see in Chicago," Thompson explained of her vision for the expanded studio.
