Ithaki Estiatorio Breathes New Life Into Near West Side's Greektown with November Networking Event
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Near West Side ·
The Near West Side's Greektown neighborhood is experiencing a renaissance thanks to Ithaki Estiatorio, a modern Greek restaurant that's quickly becoming a community hub. This month, the West Central Association will host its November Networking Event at the restaurant, offering local businesses and residents a chance to connect in a vibrant setting.
The networking gathering, scheduled at the brand new Ithaki Estiatorio in Greektown, will provide an opportunity for locals to connect with neighborhood businesses, meet community representatives, and expand their networks in a casual yet elevated atmosphere. Light snacks, beverages, and authentic Grecian hospitality will be provided during the event. Owned by the Demos family, who previously operated Costa's (a beloved neighborhood establishment), Ithaki represents a significant revival for the area. Unlike traditional Greek-American restaurants that haven't evolved since the 1960s, the restaurant features a wood-burning grill, fresh Mediterranean fish, and contemporary takes on classic dishes.
"We're hoping to be able to spark a renaissance," says owner Kosti Demos, who sees the restaurant as the start of a revitalization effort for Greektown. The establishment joins other next-generation Greek restaurants that have added contemporary flair and finer dining options to the neighborhood. Community members interested in attending the networking event or experiencing one of the Near West Side's newest culinary destinations can register through the West Central Association website.
