The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture in Humboldt Park is marking its 25th anniversary with exciting new developments. Recent improvements include a garden and community space accessible to the public that were completed in September as part of the museum's silver anniversary celebrations.

Even more exciting for the community, construction has begun on a glass atrium for the museum's courtyard. This $4.25 million project, which was approved at a community meeting last year, will enclose the museum courtyard so it can be used year-round, adding 6,000 square feet of program space for cultural events and community gatherings. The museum continues to serve as a vital cultural anchor in the neighborhood, offering residents and visitors opportunities to connect with Puerto Rican heritage through art, education, and community events.

Community members interested in experiencing these new additions can visit the museum at 3015 W. Division St. during regular operating hours. The 25th anniversary celebrations represent not just a milestone for the museum, but a testament to the enduring cultural vitality of Humboldt Park's Puerto Rican community.
