McKinley Park Businesses to Shine in 'Chicago Bites Back' Crawl Supporting Local Economy
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Mckinley Park ·
McKinley Park businesses are preparing to welcome community members for the upcoming Chicago Bites Back Business Crawl on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event, organized by Illinois 24th District State Representative Theresa Mah, offers a creative way to support local establishments while fostering community connection through a bingo-style shopping experience.
Participants can pick up bingo cards from Representative Mah's office at 2108 W. 35th St. between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., or from One City Tap later in the evening. As shoppers visit participating businesses, they'll collect stamps, with four stamps earning a free limited-edition T-shirt designed by McKinley Park artist Mayra Hernandez. Even a single stamp awards a complimentary beer at One City Tap, which will host the event's conclusion featuring music and refreshments.
This initiative highlights McKinley Park's growing reputation as a vibrant commercial district while raising funds for the Southwest Side Rapid Response Team. Residents looking to participate can start planning their route through the neighborhood's diverse shops and eateries, with the event providing a perfect opportunity to discover hidden gems along the 35th Street corridor. The business crawl promises to strengthen community bonds while showcasing local entrepreneurship on the Southwest Side.
