Lincoln Park's Walk to End Lupus Now Raises Over 50,000 for Research and SupportBy Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lincoln Park ·
The Lincoln Park community came together in a powerful display of solidarity last month when more than 1,000 participants and 100 teams gathered for the 2025 Walk to End Lupus Now event. The annual fundraiser, held on a perfect fall day at the Lincoln Park Rowing Lagoon, raised over
50,000 to support lupus research, education, and community services. The event was filled with powerful moments of strength, resilience, and hope.Organized by the Lupus Foundation of America's Midwest Region, the September 27th walk plays a crucial role in bringing awareness to this autoimmune disease that impacts 1.5 million Americans, predominantly women and women of color. With community support from around the globe, the Lupus Foundation of America continues working toward creating a world where lupus no longer exists. Participants wearing purple t-shirts, ribbons, and even tutus created a vibrant scene along the scenic lakefront path as they walked to support loved ones affected by the disease.
Neighbors who missed this year's event can still contribute to the cause by visiting the Lupus Foundation of America's website. The foundation also welcomes volunteers for future events and encourages community members to learn more about this often misunderstood condition. The success of this year's walk demonstrates Lincoln Park's strong tradition of coming together to support important health initiatives that impact our neighbors and community members.
