Salomon's New Bucktown Store Becomes Hub for Chicago's Running Community
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Bucktown ·
Bucktown welcomed a significant addition to its retail landscape this past August with the opening of Salomon's first Midwest store at 1630 N. Damen Avenue. The French sportswear brand has transformed the space into more than just a retail outlet, creating a community hub for local running enthusiasts.
The store features distinct zones showcasing both sportstyle and performance products, alongside a pop-up coffee bar and lounge space designed to foster community connections. "Bucktown is more than just a store — it's a physical expression of Salomon's belief in community and the joy of movement," said Jenny Taylor, VP of marketing at Salomon. The brand chose the neighborhood specifically for its passionate running community and the area's blend of traditional character and contemporary energy.
Neighborhood runners can participate in community runs organized by the store and enjoy the coffee bar featuring offerings from local Metric Coffee. The arrival of Salomon brings welcome energy to Damen Avenue's retail corridor, which has seen several businesses relocate in recent months. Residents interested in connecting with fellow outdoor enthusiasts can visit the store during its regular hours, which extend to 8 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, making it an accessible community resource for after-work gatherings and weekend activities.
