Construction Begins on Pita Inn: First Chicago Location Coming to Portage Park's Six Corners

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Portage Park ·

Construction is officially underway for Portage Park's newest dining destination as permits were issued on November 7th for the highly anticipated Pita Inn restaurant at 4045 North Cicero Avenue. This development marks a historic milestone as it will be Pita Inn's first Chicago location, with the Mediterranean-style restaurant currently operating five suburban establishments in Skokie, Wheeling, Glenview, Mundelein and Naperville.

The project, led by Novak Construction—the same developer behind the 6 Corners Lofts luxury apartment complex—will feature three standalone buildings housing the restaurant, a Burlington department store, and a Wells Fargo branch. The Pita Inn location will include an outdoor dining area with a connecting walkway to the bank, complemented by ample parking and landscaping. Community leaders have expressed enthusiasm about the development, describing it as "a significant milestone in the ongoing revitalization of Six Corners, reinforcing its status as a vibrant commercial and cultural hub" that will enhance the neighborhood's diverse culinary offerings.

Residents interested in following this exciting development can attend the next Portage Park Advisory Council meeting on Monday, November 25th from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. The Six Corners Chamber of Commerce also welcomes community input as this project advances the ongoing transformation of this historic shopping district into a thriving destination for local residents and visitors alike.
