Portage Park EnviroFest 2025 to Showcase Neighborhood's Green Initiatives This Weekend

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Portage Park ·

Portage Park residents will have a unique opportunity to celebrate and support local environmental efforts at the upcoming Portage Park EnviroFest 2025, scheduled for this weekend at the neighborhood's iconic 38-acre park. The event, organized by the Portage Park Chamber of Commerce, aims to highlight sustainability initiatives while bringing together local businesses and community members committed to environmental stewardship.

The timing couldn't be better, as the neighborhood has recently been recognized for its green spaces and sustainable landscaping practices. Local resident Josephine Christopher, whose yard recently won the Chicago Bungalow Association's Best Backyard Oasis award, will be showcasing eco-friendly gardening techniques during the festival. Visitors can also sign up for the upcoming 2.5-hour West Portage Park walking tour led by resident Giovina Romandine, which will explore the neighborhood's rich history, architecture, and environmental features.

Community members interested in participating in the EnviroFest can contact the Portage Park Chamber of Commerce at [email protected] for more information about vendor opportunities or volunteer positions. The event adds to Portage Park's growing reputation as a hub for community engagement and sustainable living on Chicago's Northwest Side.
