Hyde Park's Ancient Cultures Institute Invites Families to 'Investigating Ivories' Soap Sculpting Workshop

Hyde Park residents have a unique opportunity to explore ancient artistry at the Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures (ISAC) this Sunday, November 9. The museum is hosting an interactive 'Investigating Ivories' soap sculpting workshop in connection with their new special exhibition, 'Megiddo: A City Unearthed, A Past Imagined,' which opened in September and runs through March 2026.
The two-hour workshop, running from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at ISAC's building on 115 E. 58th Street, invites participants to learn about ancient ivory craftsmanship while creating their own soap sculptures under the guidance of museum educators.
