New Ithaki Estiatorio Restaurant to Host Community Networking Event in Near West Side's Greektown

The Near West Side's Greektown neighborhood is experiencing a renaissance thanks to Ithaki Estiatorio, a modern Greek restaurant breathing new life into the area. On November 19, the West Central Association will host its November Networking Event at the brand new establishment, offering local businesses and residents an opportunity to connect while enjoying authentic Grecian hospitality.
The networking gathering at Ithaki Estiatorio will provide a casual yet elevated setting where community members can meet representatives from the neighborhood, expand their networks, and enjoy light snacks and beverages. This event marks an important milestone for both the restaurant and Greektown. Owned by the Demos family, who previously operated Costa's (a beloved neighborhood establishment), Ithaki represents a significant revival for the area. Unlike traditional Greek-American restaurants that haven't evolved since the 1960s, Ithaki features a wood-burning grill, fresh Mediterranean fish, and contemporary takes on classic dishes.
"Bringing Ithaki to Greektown is more than business; it's personal," says owner Kosti Demos, who hopes "to spark a renaissance" in the neighborhood. Greektown has deep historical significance to the Near West Side, where many Greek immigrants initially settled by Hull House in an area known as the Greek Delta. Community members interested in attending the networking event on November 19 from 4:00-6:00pm can register through the West Central Association website. The gathering offers an excellent opportunity to experience one of the neighborhood's newest culinary destinations while strengthening local business connections.
