North Center's 'Home for the Holidays' Workshop Supports Local Housing Initiatives
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/North Center ·
North Center residents will have a festive opportunity to create holiday keepsakes while supporting a worthy cause this season. The Northcenter Chamber of Commerce is hosting a special 'Home for the Holidays' Workshop in collaboration with Northside Housing and Supportive Services, where participants can craft hand-sculpted gingerbread house ornaments from polymer clay.
The workshop offers a perfect holiday activity for families, friends, or even couples seeking a creative date night. What makes this event particularly meaningful is its community impact – each registration fee directly supports housing and supportive services for over 800 Chicagoans in need annually. "This class offers a great way to spend quality time with loved ones while supporting a great cause," noted event organizers. The Chamber, which has been promoting the neighborhood as a great place to work and live since 1946, continues its tradition of connecting community members through enriching activities.
For those looking to extend their holiday celebrations, North Center's calendar is filling up with seasonal events. The Holly Jolly Holiday Market on December 11th will feature over 20 local vendors including Lincoln Square Pottery, Ritual Coffee, and Eco and the Flamingo, alongside appearances by Santa and a Winter Queen. Space for the gingerbread house workshop is limited, so interested residents are encouraged to register promptly through the Northcenter Chamber of Commerce website.
