Artists Book House Opens First Irving Park Exhibition with 'Treewhispers' Celebrating Nature Through Art
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Irving Park ·
Irving Park's cultural landscape is flourishing with the arrival of the Artists Book House's inaugural exhibition at their new 4207 W. Irving Park Road location. 'Treewhispers,' an ongoing international collaboration celebrating the profound connection between trees and humanity, officially opens to the neighborhood this January with special viewing opportunities available by appointment.
The exhibition, which marks the 25th anniversary of founder Pamela Paulsrud's project in 2025, features handmade paper rounds containing personal memories, poems, and artistic expressions that form an evolving 'paper forest.' This significant cultural addition is particularly meaningful as the first public event in the Artists Book House's new Irving Park home, founded by bestselling author Audrey Niffenegger. The center represents a growing artistic presence in the neighborhood, having relocated from a previously planned Evanston location.
Irving Park residents interested in experiencing this unique celebration of nature and creativity can email [email protected] to schedule a viewing appointment. The exhibition will also feature special workshops throughout its run, including calligraphy with Julie Wildman and pulp painting with artist Don Widmer, offering neighbors opportunities to contribute to this collaborative artistic project while connecting with the neighborhood's expanding creative community.
