Holiday Market and Community Event Set for United Center Plaza on Near West Side

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Near West Side ·

Near West Side residents will have a special opportunity to celebrate the season at a new holiday market and community event being hosted at the United Center Plaza this December. The event will take place in the newly developed public space that's part of the ongoing 1901 Project, which is transforming the area with innovative green spaces and improved pedestrian experiences featuring enhanced walkability, lighting, and community gathering spaces.

The holiday market will showcase local vendors and feature seasonal activities for families, taking advantage of the reimagined spaces surrounding the United Center. The event highlights the broader vision for the area, which is evolving to include more community-focused gathering opportunities as part of the neighborhood transformation. "The 1901 Project is a neighborhood. It is one with resources, with energy, with vibrancy and with opportunity," said United Center CEO Terry Savarise when discussing the development's community focus. Local residents are encouraged to participate by contacting the West Central Association for vendor opportunities or to volunteer at the inaugural event.
