Beloved Schneider Deli Announces Major Lincoln Park Expansion for 2026

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lincoln Park ·

Lincoln Park's culinary landscape is set to get a delicious upgrade as popular Schneider Deli has announced plans to open a second location in the neighborhood in early 2026. The cult-favorite Jewish deli, known for its hand-sliced pastrami and housemade pickles, will bring its celebrated sandwiches to a new 1,750-square-foot space at 1733 N. Halsted Street.

The expansion nearly doubles the seating capacity of their original River North location inside the Ohio House Motel and will feature an all-day café with a full espresso program using locally-roasted beans from Metropolis Coffee Company. Husband-and-wife team Jake and Ariel Schneider hope the Lincoln Park deli will become a neighborhood hub for gatherings and events. "Chicago showed up for us from the very beginning," shared Jake Schneider. "This space lets us bring that same energy to a bigger room with more seats, more sandwiches and more of what makes deli culture special."

While maintaining the fan favorites that have made the original location so popular, the new space promises an expanded lineup of house-made staples and extended hours. From traditional brisket with hot giardiniera peppers to bubbe-approved latkes and matzo ball soup, the menu will feature serious sandwiches, flavorful bagels, and nostalgic favorites with a contemporary twist. Lincoln Park residents and deli enthusiasts can mark their calendars for the opening in early 2026.
