National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts Celebrates Latino Baseball Legacy with ¡PLEIBOL! Exhibition
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Humboldt Park ·
The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture in Humboldt Park is showcasing an exciting new exhibition that celebrates the rich history of Latino contributions to America's favorite pastime. The ¡PLEIBOL! In the Barrios and the Big Leagues exhibition, which opened in September and runs through February 28, 2026, explores how Latinos have impacted American culture and society through baseball.
Organized by the prestigious Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in collaboration with The Clemente Museum, the exhibition features historic photographs, engaging graphic elements, and a bilingual video created by the "La Vida Baseball" team. These elements combine to capture the excitement of baseball from community teams to the Major Leagues, highlighting the significant cultural contributions of Latino players. The exhibition is particularly meaningful in Humboldt Park, which has strong Puerto Rican roots and cultural traditions.
Community members are encouraged to visit the free exhibition as part of their winter activities. The museum, located at 3015 W. Division St., offers this exhibition as another way to connect with the neighborhood's cultural heritage while enjoying a meaningful indoor activity during the colder months ahead.
