Artists Book House Hosts Special November Workshops for Treewhispers Exhibition in Irving Park
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Irving Park ·
Irving Park residents can immerse themselves in a unique artistic experience this December as the Artists Book House continues to host the acclaimed Treewhispers exhibition at their 4207 W. Irving Park Road location. This ongoing international collaboration, celebrating its landmark 25th anniversary in 2025, features handmade paper rounds that form an ever-evolving paper forest showcasing the profound connection between trees and humanity.
The exhibition remains open by appointment, with interested neighbors encouraged to email [email protected] to schedule a viewing time. The installation holds special significance as the first public exhibition in the Artists Book House's new Irving Park location, founded by bestselling author Audrey Niffenegger. The center, originally planned for Evanston, found its home on Chicago's north side in Old Irving Park, where it's opening in phases according to completion levels. Community members looking for a meaningful cultural experience during the holiday season can explore this celebration of nature and creativity while connecting with fellow art enthusiasts in our neighborhood.
Looking ahead, the Artists Book House has announced several special events including a Chicago Calligraphy Weathergrams event on February 16 that will be free and open to the public, as well as a calligraphy workshop with Julie Wildman on February 22 focusing on 'fun and funky arboreal letters.' Additionally, artist Don Widmer will lead a pulp painting workshop on March 1st in collaboration with the exhibition. For more information about these upcoming events or to support this growing cultural resource in Irving Park, neighbors can visit the Artists Book House website.
