McKinley Park Civic Association Launches Inaugural Holiday Decorating Contest for Residents and Businesses

McKinley Park is preparing to sparkle even brighter this December as the McKinley Park Civic Association announces its first-ever Holiday Decorating Contest for neighborhood residents and businesses. The initiative invites community members to showcase their festive creativity, with entries being accepted from November 28 through December 18, 2025.
Participants can pick up applications at several convenient neighborhood locations, including the McKinley Park branch of the Chicago Public Library at 1915 W. 35th St. and the 12th Ward office at 3868 S. Archer Ave. Applications can also be requested via email at [email protected]. Winners of the inaugural contest will be announced on December 24, with prizes awarded at the Civic Association Meeting scheduled for January 7, 2026.
This new tradition arrives just as other seasonal activities get underway throughout the neighborhood, including holiday film screenings at the library and special winter programming at McKinley Park's ice rink.
