Ravenswood Light Up Nights Festival Returns This Saturday with Holiday Market and Tree Lighting Ceremony

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Ravenswood ·

Ravenswood residents will transform Wilson Avenue into a winter wonderland this Saturday, December 6, as the neighborhood's Light Up Nights Festival and Holiday Market returns for its second year. The free community celebration, organized by the Ravenswood Neighbors Association, will bring festive cheer to the area between Ravenswood and Hermitage Avenues from 4-8pm.

The event will include live performances from the ACM School of Music, a brass band, and The Greasy Skillet Jug Band, alongside an indoor holiday market, food vendors, and seasonal activities. Families can participate in a kids' scavenger hunt, visit photo stations, and witness the tree lighting ceremony at 5pm featuring Alderman Martin and The Chicago Chorus Girl Project. Local businesses are joining the festivities, with O'Shaughnessy's Public House offering special hot toddies and Access Contemporary Music's Cafe serving hot beverages and snacks.

Christmas Trees Chicago has donated live trees for the "Best In Glow" tree decorating competition, where participants can decorate a 6-foot tree for a $30 donation and take it home afterward. The evening will also feature a fundraising raffle benefiting both the Ravenswood Neighbors Association and Ravenswood Community Services Food Pantry. Neighbors are encouraged to bundle up and join this growing tradition that's quickly becoming a highlight of Ravenswood's holiday season.
