Jefferson Park's historic City-Wide Symphony Orchestra is preparing for a spectacular holiday performance at the Copernicus Center on December 6, 2025, continuing its remarkable 79th season. The community orchestra, which regularly rehearses at the Jefferson Park Field House, will present a festive program featuring holiday classics including Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride" and selections from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker Suite."

The Chicago Park District-supported ensemble will also perform Johann Strauss II's "The Blue Danube Waltz" and the Chicago premiere of "Lights On! - A Hanukkah Celebration" by composer Russell Steinberg. These selections, mixed with other festive pieces, will provide an evening that aims to "enlighten your holiday spirit" and create traditions for families to enjoy for years to come.

Jefferson Park residents interested in supporting this longstanding neighborhood cultural institution are encouraged to purchase tickets early for what organizers are describing as the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. The performance highlights the deep cultural roots of Jefferson Park and offers the community an opportunity to gather and celebrate local talent during the festive season.
