Vittum Park Announces 'Winter Wonderland' Holiday Festival for Garfield Ridge Families

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Garfield Ridge ·

Garfield Ridge families have a new holiday celebration to look forward to as Vittum Park prepares to host its first-ever 'Winter Wonderland' festival on December 10, 2025. The Chicago Park District announced the special event last week as part of its expanded holiday programming for Southwest Side communities.

The festival will transform the 13-acre park into a festive celebration space with holiday lights, family activities, and seasonal crafts. Located at 4556 W 56th St, Vittum Park already serves as a vital community hub with its fieldhouse, playground, and sports facilities. Park Supervisor Miguel Campos shared that the event will feature local food vendors, live holiday music, and activities for residents of all ages. "We wanted to create something special right here in Garfield Ridge so families don't need to travel downtown for quality holiday experiences," said Campos.

Residents interested in participating as volunteers or vendors for the Winter Wonderland festival can contact the Vittum Park fieldhouse directly or visit the Chicago Park District website for more information. The event joins other seasonal activities in the community, including the recently announced Tree Lighting ceremony on December 6 and the popular Garfield Park Conservatory Winter Flower Show, which opened last week.
