North Center's dining scene has expanded with the opening of The Western Bar & Kitchen, a Southwest-themed restaurant and tavern that has transformed a former Irish pub space. The newly renovated venue not only offers innovative cuisine but will also serve as the new home base for CIC Theater, adding to the neighborhood's vibrant arts community.

The restaurant draws inspiration from the Sonoran Desert region, reflecting owner Kyle Walsh's six years living in Tucson before moving to Chicago to pursue comedy. Diners can enjoy creative dishes like barbecue prawns glazed in mojo de ajo, oyster chili rellenos, and beef-fat fries dusted with cotija cheese. The menu also features dry-aged beef burgers topped with Gruyère and bacon jam, while dessert options include warm sopapillas served with rich Mexican chocolate.

North Center residents are encouraged to visit the new establishment to experience its unique Southwest-inspired atmosphere, complete with a pool table and carefully curated menu.
