West Englewood is celebrating a transformative moment as Thrive Englewood welcomes its first residents this December, marking the community's first new family housing development in over 50 years. Located at 6249 S. Sangamon St., the six-story building features 62 apartments with a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, alongside two live/work lofts and ground-floor retail space.

The $40.2 million development represents a significant investment in West Englewood's revitalization, with over 80% of units designated as affordable housing for families earning up to 60% of the area's median income. Developed by DL3 Realty, the team behind the successful Englewood Square shopping center, Thrive Englewood provides residents with amenities including a fitness center, resident lounge, bike storage, and outdoor patio space. The building's location near the 63rd/Halsted Green Line station connects residents to opportunities across Chicago.
