Mandrake Park Launches 'Winter Wellness Series' with December Community Kickoff

Oakland residents have an exciting new way to stay active this winter as Mandrake Park launches its 'Winter Wellness Series' running through December 7, 2025. The program builds on the park's tradition of hosting special community events throughout the year, adding new health-focused activities designed specifically for the winter season.

The series kicks off with a special community gathering on Monday, December 8, following the monthly Park Advisory Council meeting. Residents are invited to attend the virtual council session at 6:30pm before joining the in-person wellness celebration at the park's fieldhouse. The event will introduce Oakland neighbors to the expanded winter programming while providing resources for staying active and connected during colder months.

The initiative is organized in partnership with the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization (KOCO), which has deep ties to both the Bronzeville and Oakland communities.
