Edgewater's Transit-Oriented Development at 1101 W. Berwyn Nears Spring 2026 Completion

Edgewater residents will soon welcome a significant addition to their neighborhood as the Transit-Oriented Development at 1101 West Berwyn Avenue enters the final stages of construction ahead of a planned March 2026 opening. The five-story structure, situated adjacent to the newly-rebuilt Berwyn elevated platform, is now completing its exterior work with brickwork finished and most windows installed.

The mixed-use building will feature approximately 3,800 square feet of first-floor retail space divided between two commercial units, along with 56 rental apartments on the upper floors. The development includes a 20-space parking garage at ground level accessible from the alley under the L tracks. Residents will enjoy a rooftop deck atop the fifth floor, with the apartments offering one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans. Notably, 11 of the units have been designated as affordable housing.
