By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Mckinley Park ·

McKinley Park residents have exciting entertainment options this December as the neighborhood's public library announces two special events for community members of all ages. On Monday, December 22, the library will host a screening of 'Fantastic Four: First Steps' from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., bringing the 2025 superhero film to the community at no cost. The PG-13 rated adventure tells the story of how the heroic family team must defend earth from the space villain Galactus and his enigmatic herald, the Silver Surfer.

Just days earlier, tweens and teens can participate in 'Gamer's Choice' on Wednesday, December 17, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the same location. The event invites youth ages 12 to 16 to compete on the Nintendo Switch with popular games including Mario Kart, Minecraft, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Both events will take place at the McKinley Park branch of the Chicago Public Library, located at 1915 W. 35th St., providing free, accessible entertainment options during the holiday season.

Neighborhood families interested in attending either event can simply drop in at the scheduled times. With school winter breaks approaching, these library programs offer valuable social and entertainment opportunities for McKinley Park residents looking for community-based activities close to home.
