Guzman y Gomez Brings International Flavor to Bucktown with Grand Opening December 11

Bucktown's restaurant scene is about to welcome an exciting new addition as Guzman y Gomez (GYG) prepares to open its doors at 1624 N. Damen Avenue on December 11. The restaurant will celebrate its grand opening with a special promotion offering $5 burritos and bowls, inviting neighbors to experience their fresh take on Mexican cuisine.
Founded in 2006, Guzman y Gomez has built an impressive international presence with more than 230 locations across Australia, Japan, Singapore, and the United States. While the chain already operates five restaurants in Chicago suburbs including Naperville, Crystal Lake, and Schaumburg, the Bucktown location represents their first venture into the city proper. Founder and co-CEO Steven Marks expressed enthusiasm about joining the neighborhood, stating, "With a hugely engaged community and only a few miles from downtown, GYG is looking forward to showing the Bucktown neighborhood that fast food doesn't have to mean bad food."
The menu will feature Mexican favorites including burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos, and their signature "Cali burrito." Starting December 2nd, the restaurant has added a new plant-based option - Pulled Shiitake Mushroom - which can be added to any menu item or enjoyed in their new Pulled Shiitake Mushroom Taco with Herb Mayo.
