Irving Park Breweries to Host PARK(ing) Day 2025: Transforming Parking Lots into Community Spaces

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Irving Park ·

Irving Park residents have an exciting community festival to look forward to this December as Demo Brewing Company and Dovetail Brewery prepare to transform their parking lots into vibrant public spaces for PARK(ing) Day 2025. The free citywide event aims to showcase the potential for more people-oriented urban design while connecting neighbors with organizations driving positive change in Chicago.

PARK(ing) Day is a citywide festival where parking spaces are reclaimed and converted into temporary public parks for a day, sparking conversations about urban landscape and showcasing the potential for a more livable, human-focused Chicago. The event connects, educates, and empowers people to advocate for people-oriented city design. This year, the festivities are hosted at the parking lots of two premier local breweries, Demo Brewing Company and Dovetail Brewery, which are just a 4-minute walk from each other.

The main hub at Demo Brewing will feature a stage with live music and inspiring speakers throughout the day. Attendees can enjoy performances from local bands all afternoon and participate in two live yoga sessions. With convenient access via CTA Routes 9 (Ashland), 50 (Damen), and 80 (Irving Park) or nearby Irving Park Brown Line and Metra stations, the event offers Irving Park neighbors a perfect opportunity to connect with fellow community members while supporting local businesses and advocacy groups working to enhance our neighborhood's livability.
