Camp Wandawega's Bureau of Tourism Expands West Town Operations for Holiday Season

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Town ·

Camp Wandawega's Bureau of Tourism, which opened its West Town boutique earlier this year, is expanding its presence in the neighborhood with extended holiday hours and special seasonal merchandise. The Wisconsin-based retreat and resort, known for its rustic-yet-refined aesthetic, has quickly become a neighborhood favorite since its June launch, offering Chicago residents a taste of their popular camping gear, home goods, and apparel collections without the drive to Wisconsin.

The boutique, located on one of West Town's commercial corridors, was opened by owner Tereasa Surratt as a way to bring Wandawega's creative ethos and summer camp vibe to Chicago, where she lives and works with her family. The shop features the camp's distinctive line of consumer products, including bedding, clothing, camping gear, and branded souvenirs, building on previous successful pop-ups at the Center of Order and Experimentation in West Town.

Neighborhood shoppers looking for unique, locally-connected holiday gifts can visit the Bureau of Tourism throughout December to explore their winter collection and participate in weekend craft workshops. The expansion adds another distinctive retail option to West Town's thriving independent business community, reinforcing the neighborhood's reputation as a destination for shopping and culture. Residents are encouraged to support this local business while completing their holiday shopping.
