Near West Side residents are invited to gather at Mary Bartelme Park this Thursday, December 11th, for the neighborhood's 15th annual tree and menorah lighting ceremony. The festive community celebration at 115 S. Sangamon St. will feature a variety of holiday activities for all ages, with the official lighting ceremony set to begin at 5 p.m.

Attendees can enjoy live holiday music performed by students from the Merit School of Music, alongside complimentary holiday cupcakes and hot cocoa. Children will have the opportunity to meet Santa, while adults can connect with neighbors during this cherished annual tradition. The event will also feature an indoor holiday market showcasing 16 local vendors, providing residents with opportunities to shop for unique gifts while supporting neighborhood businesses. Additional family-friendly activities include a holiday scavenger hunt, photo stations, and caroling throughout the evening.

The West Loop Community Organization encourages residents to bring new or gently used winter accessories to contribute to their annual Warmth Drive benefiting local shelters.
