Garfield Ridge's Indoor Winter Market Celebrates Successful First Month with Holiday Expansion

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Garfield Ridge ·

The Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch (GRNW) announced this week that its inaugural Indoor Winter Market series will be expanding its hours and vendor capacity for the remainder of December following an overwhelmingly positive community response to the first month of operations.

Launched in early November at the Garfield Ridge Community Center, the market has quickly become a neighborhood gathering spot, featuring over two dozen local small businesses offering seasonal crafts, handmade goods, and specialty food items perfect for holiday gift-giving. "The community turnout has exceeded all our expectations," shared Maria Perez, GRNW volunteer coordinator. "We've created a warm, welcoming space where neighbors can connect during the colder months while supporting our local entrepreneurs."

The expanded holiday schedule will include extended evening hours on Thursdays and additional vendor spaces for local artisans. Residents interested in participating as vendors or volunteers can find complete details on the GRNW website. Like all GRNW-sponsored events, the Winter Market remains free of charge and open to all community members, continuing the organization's 17-year tradition of fostering neighborhood connections through accessible programming.
