Historic 400 Theater Set to Reopen in West Rogers Park Under Experienced Michigan Exhibitor

The historic New 400 Theaters in West Rogers Park is set to make a triumphant comeback under the guidance of Michigan-based exhibitor Jordan Stancil. The iconic movie house at 6746 N. Sheridan Road, once Chicago's oldest continuously running theater before closing in 2023, will be rebranded as The 400 Theater as Stancil works to restore this 113-year-old neighborhood institution to its former glory.

Stancil plans to revitalize the beloved venue with a diverse programming mix including first-run studio releases, independent and foreign films, plus community-oriented events. The news has already generated excitement among Rogers Park residents who've missed their neighborhood cinema. "It's just a cool community," Stancil noted about West Rogers Park. "A lot of different languages are spoken in the area. Loyola University is nearby. It's a cool place."

Community members eager to support this cultural revival can follow the theater's Facebook page for upcoming announcements about the official reopening date and programming schedule. "Everyone is excited to honor The 400 Theater's unique place in the Rogers Park community," said Stancil. "Independent theaters enrich local culture by offering spaces for shared experiences, and I look forward to partnering with the community to make The 400 a cultural anchor once again."
