The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago is brightening Streeterville's winter calendar with the announcement of expanded holiday programming throughout December 2025. Starting December 14, the museum will host its signature Second Saturday Family Day with free admission for children under 12 and special seasonal art-making activities designed to engage neighborhood families during the winter months.
Visitors can also experience two acclaimed exhibitions before they close in early 2026: 'Yoko Ono: Music Of The Mind,' which showcases over 200 works across various media including participatory pieces where visitors can interact with instruction-based artworks, and 'City In a Garden: Queer Art And Activism In Chicago,' celebrating local artistic contributions. The MCA has also extended its Tuesday evening hours until 9 p.m. throughout December, with free admission for Illinois residents, creating new opportunities for Streeterville residents to experience world-class exhibitions after work.
"We're creating meaningful opportunities for connection through art during the winter months," explained a museum representative, highlighting how these evening events will utilize various spaces throughout the museum. Streeterville families are encouraged to mark their calendars for these upcoming events, which provide a perfect cultural respite from the winter weather while supporting one of the neighborhood's premier cultural institutions.
