Apostolic Faith Church Hosts Massive Holiday Giveaway for Bronzeville Community
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Bronzeville ·
For the second day in a row, Apostolic Faith Church is leading a massive effort to bring holiday cheer to Bronzeville residents through their annual Christmas toy, coat, and food basket giveaway. Since Tuesday, church members and volunteers have been distributing these essential items to community members in need.
Hundreds of people have visited the historic church located at 38th Street and Indiana Avenue for this longstanding community tradition. Executive Pastor Jonathan Banks noted the increasing community need this year, emphasizing that the effort represents "a community effort" where they're "seeing God's love flourish and partnerships. But at the core of it is making sure that the needs of our community and our children are met." The church has made these offerings available to anyone living within the four neighborhood zip codes they've pledged to help.
Community members interested in contributing to future outreach events can contact Apostolic Faith Church directly. The church's holiday giveaway exemplifies Bronzeville's strong tradition of community support and collective care, especially during the winter season when needs are often greatest.
